Weather patterns make weed control more difficult

A BASF Tech Service Representative says with a year like this, residual herbicides have been more successful.
Mike Probst says getting fields sprayed in a timely manner has been a challenge.
"We saw a lot of situations where folks maybe went out and planted before they were able to get a a residual down and then they were trying to kind of catch up with their herbicides afterwards and we've seen some struggles with that," he says.
He tells Brownfield he's optimistic about the remainder of the growing season.
"There's still a lot of crop left and a lot of life and left in these crops and a lot of yield left," he says. "So we're a long way from these things having having any anything detriment."
Probst says farmers will have a new herbicide option available within the next year to help manage tough to control weeds.
