Orlando, Fla.-based Massey Services announced the acquisition of MAR-VON Termite & Pest Control Company. The acquisition was finalized on April 26.

Founded in 1955, MAR-VON is headquartered in Athens, Tenn. The company provides residential and commercial termite and pest control services to the southeastern portion of Tennessee, covering seven counties. This acquisition marks the third Massey Services location in Tennessee.

"We are pleased to welcome the MAR-VON Termite & Pest Control team members and customers to the Massey Services organization," Tony Massey, second-generation president and CEO of Massey Services, said in a news release. "MAR-VON has been providing superior service to customers for more than 65 years. We look forward to carrying on their legacy of total customer satisfaction for years to come."

About Massey Services

Massey Services began in February 1985 when industry veteran Harvey Massey, a member of the Pest Management Professional (PMP) Hall of Fame, Class of 2008, purchased an existing pest management company with four branches and annual revenues just below $4 million. Although he went almost $1 million into debt when he bought the business, Massey quickly recovered, and today the company employs more than 2,500 team members and operate 2,300 vehicles that provide residential and commercial pest prevention, termite protection, landscape and irrigation services to more than 750,000 customers from more than 170 service centers throughout Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Texas, South Carolina, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Virginia and Tennessee. As Harvey Massey noted in his Hall of Fame profile: "It's a people business. It always has been and always will be. I really love that aspect of it."
