ASHFORD, Conn. (WFSB/Gray News) - An animal control officer reported that a child was bitten by a raccoon in Ashford, Connecticut. Video of the incident was captured by a surveillance camera Friday morning. "I was going out to get on the bus and a raccoon was there and tried to attack me," said Rylee MacNamara of Ashford. Rylee said she and her mother, Logan, suffered some bite marks before her mother was able to yank the animal off her. The raccoon ran off into the woods after she threw it off. "It was wrapping its arms around my leg," she explained. "It really hurt." (NO AUDIO) A girl was attacked by a raccoon in Ashford. The family gave Channel 3 video of the attack. DOH closes Thai Mee Up Kula 2 in Makawao due to cockroach infestation Posted on Dec 24, 2022 in Newsroom MAKAWAO – The Hawai'i Department of Health (DOH) Maui Food Safety Branch has posted a red "Closed" placard to protect public health at Thai Mee Up Kula 2 due to a cockroach infestation.  The food truck is operated by Maui Mobile Food Court LLC and vends at 28 Kiopaa Place in Makawao.   The food establishment received the red placard on December 22, 2022 and must remain closed until all violations are resolved and the health department allows the mobile unit to reopen to the public.  During a routine inspection conducted on December 22, 2022, the DOH inspector observed approximately 25 roaches in various life stages throughout the mobile including on a shelf above the service window, beneath frying pans, in a to-go food container, and on the floor.   Additional critical violations noted at inspection in

Genesis Lara Students at Tanque Verde High School are now able to delve deeper into learning about ranching and farming after the school received grant money to build a new barn and improve its greenhouse. The barn, which officially opened this month, is already housing three Brangus cattle and two lambs, and will soon shelter chickens and pigeons for the students to work with.
